What a blessing to have our friends, that we've known since our ministry in Andahuaylas who are now living in Trujillo, to come and visit us in Oxapampa. We were able to have a VBS for the children in our church for three days with the assistance of our visitors. Raquel taught the Bible lesson to the children while Raul helped with the game time. It was so much fun having them with us as we ministered together, prayed together, evangelized together, and toured together. It was an extremely busy week but so encouraging for all.

Church Movie Night
With Covid-19 restrictions in place, it has been difficult to get opportunities to gather as a church. We arranged a Christian movie night with the idea of using the yard to spread everyone out and all them to have some food. Toward the end of the movie it began to rain but rather than ending the movie and them leaving, they all got together under the small canopy and house porch to finish the movie. We served the food as they were leaving as they thanked us for arranging the gathering.
Children's ministry
The children in our church and neighbor kids are a ministry in and of itself. It has been a blessing to see their willingness to assist with church projects. They are daily ringing our door bell wanting to come inside and play with our pets and games, borrow items to play with, receive counseling, or help with their schooling.
A tribute to our dog "Max"
On the morning of August 11, 2021 we found our dog Max permanently asleep in his dog house. He was over nine years old and the vet said that he died quickly in his sleep that night. It was difficult to have to share the news with our kids and to bury one who has been so close to us for that long of time. He was by far the best dog we have ever owned and we have so many great memories to hold.
Our new Rottweiler "Rex"
As many know our Rottweiler "Max" is getting older and slowing down. We heard that our friend in Huancayo had two Rottweiler puppies born the first week of May 2021 and were available. We decided to get another puppy to add to the family. We brought the puppy home to Oxapampa at the end of June. We would need time to train it and for it to mature before "Max" would pass away.
"Rex" immediately won over the hearts of our family and friends.
Some of the family, Max and Kit, took a little longer to accept him but then Rex and Max became the best of friends.
The church kids and neighbors like to play with our dogs.
Distribution of Food Bags
We began distributing food bags to their homes instead of the lines forming in front of the church to be sure that each household was receiving one without promoting dishonesty as some families where sending multiple family members attempting to receive extra bags while others were not able to receive their first before supplies would run out. I'm thankful for our girls willingness to help deliver them with me.
