Family Vacation with Missionary team

We were asked by the missions team to take a vacation with them into the coast area of Peru which is a much more modern area. This allowed us also to get more supplies and paper work done while in Lima.

 Jon grows out his beard every once in a great while but usually doesn't last too long.

 We were able to visit EFATA where we had our language training before and participate in their fundraiser for their anniversary service. Someone paid to have Matthew put in their jail for a certain amount of time.

 Katie was able to practice her skill with the sling shot.

 Nathan practiced his skill with the bow and arrows.

 Nisha took the time to catch up on fellowship with other missionaries.

 The Missions team went in together to get housing on the coast. The children enjoyed the hot tub that was on the fifth floor balcony over looking the Pacific Ocean and clear night sky.

 We enjoyed the time with family and friends.

 The missions team rented this house for a couple of days. It had enough rooms and beds for the whole team and was cheaper than getting rooms individually at any hotel and allowed us to be together privately.

 Gary and Jon get an opportunity to go golfing while at the coast.

 Nathan enjoys a hamburger before returning to the Mountains where they don't have burgers.

 Nisha does one last shopping trip at the grocery store to see what we could best use and can't get in the Mountains.

May events in Andahuaylas

Gary and Jon are asked to participate in a Peruvian wedding. Many Peruvians live together unmarried and so it's encouraging when there is a marriage.

 Every Monday the church staff gets together for lunch and staff meeting.

 We are so grateful to have been able to purchase a table and chairs for our family this month.

 We were able also to get one curtain for our living room and are waiting to be able to get others for our bedrooms and other rooms.

First month in Andahuaylas

The church has a family day where pictures were taken of each family.

 Our children helping with the cleaning of their new bathroom. Much time and effort went into the installing of a bathtub in this bathroom.

 Our living room and bedrooms are without flooring until further provisions are made. The rough cement will have to do for awhile.

 We are using are storage containers for closets and dressers for the time.

 Our children enjoy walking through the big market every weekend and seeing the different animals and produce available.

 We were invited to a church members birthday party at his house.

 We enjoyed eating pig for lunch.

 Matthew once again enjoys the food in the Mountains. He is here eating his first guinee pig (Cuy).

Ministry in Andahuaylas

 Nisha's first day of teaching in the school at the church. There is a total of six students this year.

 The church has started a Bible Institute that meets every Friday for 2 hours. There were 26 students that signed up for the first class.

Missionary team travels to Sondor

Sondor is the name of the place with Inca ruins about one hour from Andahuaylas. Our missionary team took a trip to build unity and to have a bonding time. We enjoyed getting to know the team better. We played some games like baseball and bocce ball. 

Needed house work to be done

The downstairs bathroom needed serious attention before it would be suitable for use.

 The main side door to the house was not functioning and needed to be taken out to be replaced.
