Visiting churches in Lima

Jon was able to preach in one church and assist in another while in Lima. Ray, Judy and Leah participated in the deaf ministry of EFATA.

 Our trip from Lima to Huancayo was in a bus. We were able to see the waterfalls and mountains throughout the trip.

 We traveled as high as 16,000 feet in altitude and had to make adjustments.

 We were greeted with a double rainbow and very happy family to see us.

Water park in Lima

El Parque del Agua (the water park) in Lima is a place that we tried to visit last year so that Judy could experience but was closed. Judy teased us for a long time saying that it probably didn't even exist., but this year we went on a celebration day which offered more than just the normal activities. 

 Pictures don't capture the water dancing to the Peruvian music and the changing of the colors that makes it so much better in person.

Ray, Judy, and Leah come to visit

Ray (Jon's Dad), Judy (Jon's stepmother), and Leah (friend from Canada) all arrived on the same day that Jon escorted the five from our sending church back to the Lima coast to return to the States.

 Jon took the group to a nice restaurant and than returned to the airport to meet Leah.

 The Lima traffic makes it difficult to get anywhere fast. Dad and Judy arrived in the afternoon before Jon and the group arrived from Huancayo and with Leah arriving later that evening before returning again to the airport to see the Faithway group off to the States.

Dad, Judy, Leah, and Jon were able to stay at EFATA ministries for a couple of days (of recuperation and sightseeing).

 Dad asked his friend Jose to join us for a day out on the town. We were able to visit a newly constructed mall, eat at Chili's, and visit some touristic areas together. Jon had fun translating into signs and Spanish.

 Judy and Leah get free strong coffee from the bank while Jon gets strange looks from the security guards for taking pictures in the bank.

 Coste-Verde is a favorite spot for many to see the Pacific Ocean and the parks nearby.

Baptisms in the church

Four people were baptized in August from our church (Potter's Baptist). They have been discipled by the Pastors and are obeying God's will for their lives. They shared their salvation testimony with the church before getting baptized.

 The church rejoices together.

 So thankful that our sending church was able to witness this time with our church.
