Field Trip in our valley

We took a family field trip tour of our valley with Ray and Judy. It was fun and educational.
Visiting some of the oldest catholic churches in the valley and getting some pictures of some of the history.

Our twin girls decided to climb the bell tower of this church for a better view.

It was neat to see some fields being plowed with cows yoked together in the fields.

Peru takes pride in their plazas by decorations to exhibit their traditions and history.
The fishery farm were villagers come and catch their fish to buy.
Miniature golf in Peru is totally different from the States. It would take almost twenty strokes each hole to go through the maze correctly. We asked for the 9 irons to chip away.
Some shots seemed impossible without the aide of others.
Katie enjoys zip-lining and even convinces Jon to do it as well.
The Museum gave much insight on the history of Peru and especially of the Valley of Mantaro where we live.

Jon is surrounded by school children who were practicing their English and enjoying their own field trip.
Ray and Nathan try on the peruvian masks.
Nathan always seems to be interested in things pertaining to death.
Boat trip on the lake where we were able to walk on floating islands and see a variety of ducks.

Peru is filled with different ruins that have lasted through the years.

So many touristic restaurants to choose from that will serve you great Peruvian meals.

A trip to the material and sewing shop where the girls were able to pick out items to make gifts.

Family past-time fun

Nathan gets instructions from his grandpa to change out the electric box with new fuses.

Little Mateo likes playing with the dogs when visiting our house each week.
A double rainbow was seen while out taking in some sights one evening.

Some sheep were being slaughtered for the restaurant while we were there. Our children were able to lend a hand and enjoyed the experience.

A test of bravery as Katie was the first to climb to the top and capture the flag.
Nathan was a little slower than the girls but possibly because his grandpa was shaking the pole.

Anybody interested in staying in a bungalow for the night on top of this mountain?  They provide a climbing rope to get there.

Zip lining in Peru during a family day. Matthew was timid at first until the other three siblings made it safe.

Four-wheeling on some mountain paths turned out to be interesting.
Matthew enjoys playing basketball with his friends and teammates.

Matthew's 18th Birthday

Matthew celebrated his 18th birthday in Peru by inviting his church, basketball teams, and friends to our house for some games and fellowship. It's hard to believe that he is 18 years old and will soon be returning to the States to further his education.

So proud of Matthew and what God is doing in his life. Praying that he will follow God's will in his future.
