It is coming to that point for our van. It is over 10 years old which says a lot being in the high altitude of over 10,000 feet. It would not start after driving to church on Sunday. We ended up pushing it back to our house in the rain. The mechanic diagnosed it as needing a new gas pump as well as other things. Since our van is a North-American model (Chrysler), the parts are not sold here in Peru and must be imported from the States. We were told that the needed parts without labor would be $4,000. After a month of praying for wisdom and using public transportation, our mechanic said that he found a part that will temporarily work for the city until we can purchase the original.
Car parts are so much cheaper in the States and we can possibly bring them back in the fall without too much added expense.
