Last trip to Andahuaylas

Jon and Matthew drove for 13 hours from Lima to Andahuaylas to close on our rented house that we had for three years. It required finishing packing and loading all of our items to move into our new house on the coast. One of our van tires needed to be repaired but were thankful it was discovered one block from a tire repair shop. We thank all of those who prayed specifically for this trip. God granted safety and provisions.
Once we arrived in Andahuaylas, we were greeted by those closest to us and with whom we ministered with during our time there.
Jon had a temporary horn installed in our van that plays all different animal and siren sounds. Our original horn is not working consistently and would be much harder to replace.
Andahuaylas has been working hard on building a park and plaza area with statues and fountains for the last two years. It was exciting to return to see the finished work and to see the improvements made in the town. With a road that is paved from the Lima to Andahuaylas, I'm afraid the narrow valley will not be able to handle the traffic that will be going through.
Matthew was excited to be able to play with his basketball team in the playoffs while we were there in Andahuaylas. Their team won first place in the tournament and received certificates and a trophy.

Our neighbor, who gave us our white dog named "Miracle" as a puppy, had asked if they could have him back when they heard we wouldn't have sufficient space for two dogs. It was difficult for us to have to let him go but knew that it was best.
Our dogs missed us while we were gone in the States for furlough but definitely did not forget us. They were jumping up and down and spinning when we came back.
Saying "Good-bye" was hard to do.
With the items packed and ready to go, Jon had to find a moving truck willing to take it directly to our new house. Once again, God answered our prayers. One of the businessmen from the church, who had a semi-truck returning to the city, made it available to us. Jon was only charged for the gas needed for the truck. This saved us quite a bit of money.

We enjoyed the fellowship with our friends from Andahuaylas.
The basketball team came over each day and helped us with the packing before the truck came to pick it up. We're thankful for those from the church who helped us as well.

Taking in the sights of Andahuaylas for the last time before our trip back to Lima.
