We visited the Baptist Seminary in Urubamba and spent some time fellowshipping with the Loveall Family before visiting Machu Picchu.
Walking up to the missionaries house for a cookout. The fourth of July cookout with other North Americans.
That evening we boarded the train to take us to "Aguas Caliente" town at the base of Machu Picchu.
Someone from the hotel met us at the train station and escorted us to the hotel. It didn't take us long to find a nice restaurant and have some American food for dinner.
"Agua Caliente" isn't very big and is boxed in with mountains.
After visiting and hiking the Machu Picchu ruins, we enjoyed relaxing in the hot springs (agua caliente).
Katie was looking forward to exploring the open market where she bought a stuffed llama and discovered other interesting items.
Our train ride to and from Machu Picchu was comfortable.
The hotel at "Agua Caliente" where Jon started a bottle-rocket fight in the room with our children so that they would have their fireworks on the fourth of July. It took awhile for the smoke filled room to clear. Each one had their own bed and slept comfortably.
Our guide met us at our hotel the next morning and we boarded the bus to take us up to Machu Picchu.
Pictured below is the gate into Machu Picchu as each showed their tickets.
The sign explaining the discovery and history of Machu Picchu done by the Missionary Hiran Bingham. It's an interesting read if you get the chance to look into it.
Nisha and our children are climbing down the stairs in the picture below. Matthew is wearing his red coat.
For lunch, we had some sandwhiches and fries. We enjoyed playing some pool while waiting for our meal. After our meal, we boarded the train back.
