Family Vacation (part 6) Lima

We want to thank all of those who made this vacation possible for our family. This was the first time for our girls to be off the mountain for over a year. We were able to celebrate our 18th anniversary, birthdays, and holidays all on this trip. When given the option of celebrating them in the mountains or setting the money aside until we travel to the coast, many decided to wait for this trip. The coast of Peru has much more restaurants, activities, supermarkets, and modern items that are not available where we minister.
Enjoying the view of the Pacific Ocean.
Of course, we immediately took advantage of the nicer restaurants like Chili's, LongHorn Steakhouse, Burger King, McDonald's, Pizza Hut, Subway, and others which again are not available in our area.
Our son Matthew is the only one in the family that likes the taste of coffee. He has been looking forward to this opportunity for awhile.
Jon and Nathan sharing their superhero stories and moments.

Our girls enjoy visiting the Pet shop in the mall and getting to see all the different animals.
Nisha enjoys shopping at the supermarkets; especially when the "Detroit Tigers" baseball game is showing on all the TV's live. Let's just say that we were there for some time cheering on our Tigers.

We visited "Happy Land and a bowling alley" to celebrate Nathan's birthday. Both of our girls played and won the most available tickets possible on the game "Deal or no Deal".
Bumper Cars got wild and crazy but was lots of fun.

Nathan opening his birthday gifts at the bowling alley.

Bowling in Peru is hilarious since many of the Peruvians have no idea the proper etiquette of the game.  There were kids running down the lanes, playing soccer with the bowling ball while they waited for their turn, and using the ball returner as a volleyball net to play balloon volleyball. It was difficult to concentrate when you had kids falling in front of you as you approached to throw. Those Peruvians who actually tried to bowl the right way had a hard time making it down the unleveled lane without it hitting the bumpers. It was an entertaining evening.

We met the Brock's at the airport who brought us some goodies from the States. What a blessing to receive items that reminded us of home.
The EFATA ministries in Lima was where we spent our first year in Peru. It was exciting to renew friendships and enjoy fellowshipping of what God is doing there ministry to the deaf.
Jon was able to preach in the evening service.
Pastor Victor, Pastor Wilder, and Jon sharing some funny moments together.
Jon and Nisha celebrated their 18th anniversary at the LongHorn Steakhouse. We thank God for our marriage and our children.
While traveling back to Andahuaylas in the Mountains, Jon had to take a picture of this truck without its shell.
By the time we made it back to the mountains our car looked like it had been thru a storm. Praise the Lord for safety in our travels. We traveled over 50 hours on this trip by car in order to save money by air flights. God saw us safely through it all. This vacation was very encouraging and refreshing to us.
