Church children's program

What a blessing to see the church children's program in action. The program is new this year and has helped the children learn the Bible in so many ways. They performed songs, memorized verses, and had a poem competition in front of the church.

Even the adults, who are children at heart, enjoyed the program and seeing the younger ones perform.

Jesus loves the little children!

Ray and Judy adapting to Peru

It didn't take long for them to find out the love that Peruvians have for soccer. We showed the games with our projector and broke out the decorations to get into the spirit.

Nisha took them to the market to buy fruits, vegetables, and meat.
Ray went with us to the sign-language class to learn some new signs.
The new mall has opened and offers family games to enjoy.

So many stories and pictures to show them.
Ray and Judy got started on the list of projects that Jon always has ready for them.
Nisha t takes them to the grocery store each week to go shopping. The shopping carts go sideways as well as front and back.

Friend's day with the church at the park

Our church organized a "Friend Day" activity at the park where we enjoyed activities and games with friends. Over 50 people came and participated in the event.

Grandpa and Nana arrive in Peru

Ray (Jon's dad) and Judy (Jon's stepmom) landed in Lima on October 5th after a delayed flight which caused a missed flight with extra lay overs and lots of headaches. They arrived but their bags were lost in the mix up. They were escorted by Nisha up to Huancayo by plane where they contacted the airline to have their missing bags shipped to our house.
We welcomed them with open arms to the mountains of Peru. They needed time to adjust to the altitude of over 10,000 feet.
With a lot of phone calls to track down their luggage, it finally arrived three days later by a bus. They were happy to not only get their luggage with their clothes and medicine but also the many gifts to give to our family from the States.

We are looking forward to the fellowship and time together with family.

Nisha's trip and Jon with the kids

Nisha made cupcakes for a baby shower at the church and finished her discipleships before taking her trip to Lima to meet Ray and Judy at the airport and accompany them to Huancayo.

Nisha getting on the bus to Lima. Not even 15 minutes later, Jon got pulled over by the police for letting Katie practice driving the van home.
With mom gone on her trip, we enjoyed ice-cream, games, and movies. She will be missed but when the cat is away the mice get to play.

It wasn't all fun and games as the house needed to be prepared for guests, the yard repaired with new grass seed, and the car fixed with new brakes, springs, and other things.

Dia de Joventud

Independent Baptist Church celebrated their Youth Day with activities, food, and preaching from Jon.
