Family Outing

It was fun taking our boys around to see the sights of our area. It was adventuras and wild.

Nathan makes a new friend.

Christmas at our house

Christmas at our house!
The traditional sugar cookie making mixed with a flour fight.
Thankful to have a big turkey which isn't sold in our jungle area but brought in special for the occasion.

Family Game time where dad doesn't win all the time anymore.
Christmas Eve fireworks are a must in Peru.
Matthew brings goodies from the States.

Sitting together as a family. The best gifts this year came by plane. So thankful to be together for the holidays.

What a blessing to go out visiting, having chocolatada's, giving gifts, and celebrating our Saviour's birth together as a family.

Matthew comes to visit

Nisha takes a bus to Lima to meet Matthew at the airport who is coming to surprise his girlfriend in Huancayo and spend Christmas with his family.
Our house is all decorated and waiting for Matthew to come.
Matthew and Nisha travel to Huancayo to visit the Mendoza family.
We are able to pick them up at the Oxapampa bus station just a few days later.
Nathan surprised Matthew when he came into his room. It's so exciting to have all the family together for the holidays.

We survived a few days while mom was away to pick up Matthew but we did have some adventures. Everyone worked together to try to accomplish all that mom usually does for us.
What a blessing to give out gifts for Christmas.

Nathan's Surprise Christmas Visit

Our second son Nathan, with the coordination of his dad, pulled off a shocking surprise for Nisha and the girls on December 14th when he arrived at our house here in Peru.
Our family had been praying and looking forward to our oldest son Matthew's arrival on December the 19th. But Nathan's arrival the week before shocked many.
Nathan flew from Phoenix, Arizona, had a  layover in Texas to catch a plane to Lima, Peru. Once he arrived in Lima I arranged for friends from a church to pick him up and let him catch some rest before catching a 12 hour bus ride to Oxapampa where I picked him up and brought him home for the surprise. Nathan came into our bedroom to greet Nisha who yelled out in shock and disbelief before tears of joy. I quickly shut the door to give them time together as the yell woke up the girls wondering what had happened. The last time they heard a yell like that was when a loved one had passed away. After a brief moment, I opened the door to let the girls see Nathan and to get their shock of his arrival. And now Nisha must keep it a secret from Matthew until his arrival. We've enjoyed this time with Nathan as he participates in the ministry with us.

We had a record attendance of 53 in our church on December 15th.
