A visit from Southside Baptist

It was a special treat to have Southside Baptist from Ypsilanti, Michigan visit us in Peru. We were able to meet them at the airport and show them around for a day in Lima. The group was able to evangelize in the streets and minister in our church. It was amazing to see their hard work of preparing puppet shows, chalk-art, dramas, testimonies, preaching, and special music done in Spanish. God used this group to be such a blessing to our ministry.

The Youth Pastor of this church, Marc Wilson, is a good friend of Jon's. They grew up together in Michigan and went to the same christian school at Faithway Baptist.

Our last days spent in Los Olivos, Lima

Once Jon and the twins secured a house in Huancayo (the mountains) to move into, we began packing everything up to prepare for our move. What a blessing to look back and see God's provisions and God's people lending us a hand.
We will miss our church in Los Olivos. It was such a blessing to minister together for the sake of the Gospel. We will cherish the memories of assisting in the different ministries from missions trips to the Amazon, preaching in the upcoming new church of Carabayllo, establishing a Youth ministry, and the weekly discipleship/visitation.
Jon enjoyed preaching each week at the churches.

Before leaving for the mountains, we were able to enjoy the anniversary celebrations of the private christian school and of the church.

Becca and Katie sang special music with our adopted Peruvian son (Daniel).
Jon provides a Biblical skit with the help of our children and leaders in the church.

Matthew is pictured with the single adults class from the church. He was thrilled to be a part of this group and share in their love for God.

Pastor Fidel Gomez recognized our family during the Anniversary.
Daniel was leaving after the Anniversary and will be entering the Seminary in Mexico for the next 4-5 years. We will miss him dearly and are praying that God will continue to use him in a great way.

Celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary

Nisha and I celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary together on the Pacific Beach Coast in Miraflores, PerĂº. We're so thankful to the Lord for bringing us together and for the many wonderful memories we've shared throughout the years. God has blessed us with four wonderful children who are growing quickly. What a blessing to be serving such a great God!

Jon's trip to Huancayo to find housing

This time Jon takes Rebecca and Katie to find housing in Huancayo. The girls were excited and can't wait to move back into the mountains.
Missionary Samuel Vega was willing to house us and help us look around for housing. His girl, Tirsa, turned four years old while we were there. We decided to throw her a party and invite family and friends of hers.

Rebecca and Katie enjoyed taking in the sights and customs of the small towns.

Our trip to Huancayo and back to Lima was beautiful. We were able to see snow, llamas, and plenty of good scenery.

Each trip that I've taken into the mountains has had vehicles flipped over or fallen off the mountains. We're thankful for the safety the God has given to us so far.
Can you spot the train in the middle of the picture? It also goes to Huancayo from Lima but only twice a month.
Praising the Lord!  We were able to secure a house in Huancayo beginning July 16th. We will be busy packing our apartment up in Comas and transitioning up into our new house by the end of July.
