Huancayo-Concepcion trip

Jon and Daniel drove seven hours from Lima to the Mantaro Valley for a survey and ministry trip. They passed some areas that have recently gone through strikes and had flash floods that destroyed many homes.
The scenery and the altitude in the mountains is breathtaking.

Daniel is a Peruvian that has spent most of his years on the sunny coast and wasn't prepared for the colder climate in the mountains. He touched snow for the first time and was freezing for most of the trip.

Jon poses with some school kids for a picture in the plaza.
This trip provided much needed information for our next transition of starting a church. We met with other missionaries and pastors as we visited their homes and churches.

We set up our evangelism tent in the market and in front of the university to share the Gospel and make some new contacts. What a blessing to see God working in hearts and the decisions that were made.

The schools gathered in the plaza for a city ceremony. We were treated to some school marches and bands.

Jon and Daniel learned more about their specific trades in some of the towns.

Jon practices using the whip. Some of the Peruvians were impressed that he knew how to do it.

Jon and Daniel were trying to blend in a little too much with these masks at the market.
Jon had the opportunity to preach and share his ministry in three different churches on the trip.

One church celebrating their anniversary had invited all the pastors and leaders that could come to their special day. What a great way to meet many others who have or are ministering in the valley.
