Jon's jungle trip to Oxapampa and to Satipo

We received the phone call from the mechanic in Oxapampa that our van had been fixed and would be able to be picked up. Jon took a bus from Huancayo to Oxapampa and used the van to continue to visit jungle areas and see the need for more churches to be established.

Jon was able to get to know the many aspects of the area from sugar-cane factory to camps.

Evert, a member of our church in Huancayo, was able to join Jon on his trip and show him where he was raised and other great sights.

Can you spot the Blue Morpho butterfly? He tries to hide in the jungle by closing his wings that are brown on the outside but when they are open they are a bright blue color to their wings.

We had the opportunity to visit the coffee plantation where the parents of Evert live and maintain.

We were able to stay at a Christian camp and preach in the church.

Thankfully we were able to drive our own van instead of hitching a ride on the public transportation on the jungle roads.

Our trip came to an end and we needed to return to Huancayo. Praising the Lord for the opportunities to evangelize and understand the necessities of these areas.
