Jon's work list for his dad

Jon's dad, Ray, likes to keep busy and with a three month stay in Peru, Jon made a list (actually three lists) of work projects for him to do. Pictured below are pictures of Ray having fun by keeping busy working and spending time with his four grandchildren. Thanks dad for all that you did and for just being with us.
Ray working on the bathroom.
Ray witnessed the church service thru a rain storm with a leaking roof which was loud throughout.

 Painting, painting, and more painting.

Ray constructs shelving at the children's home.
Ray fixes water damaged walls and repaints.

Ray enjoyed using the "vonage" phone line to keep up to date on things happening in the States with family.

Nisha is always hesitant to send the guys to the market for food.

Jon was going to turn the water on while Ray was connecting the lines but...
he got the look from his wife.
Nisha believes that the bathroom has a curse because it keeps on breaking down. We are hoping this fix will work.
Ray builds closets for the grandchildren.

Ray lends a hand at the children's home each week.
Just going to the coffee shop for ONE cup of coffee and a sandwich (with five slices of bread).
 Ray builds a chicken coup.

When the lawnmower wasn't working properly, they got down on their knees to pray and investigate the problem. Joel was impressed when Ray took out a baby wrench from his pocket to work on it. Ray usually is prepared for quick fixes. Did you notice the suduko puzzle book in his pocket in case it wasn't a quick fix.

 Ray helps with laying carpet.
You can't find streamers in stores too often. Ray hand makes streamers for the church friend day activity.

 Ceramic tiling the patio sink.
Grilling up in the high altitude mountains is about the same but he can now say that he did it.
 Anybody up for more painting?

Matthew was really good at getting the high spots with his height, even though he is afraid of heights at times.

Relaxing time at the lake with the grandchildren, playing big birdie golf/botchy ball/and eating fresh fish.

Ray constructs shoe shining boxes for the grandchildren.

Removing stumps with a chain saw, axe, and muscle.

Christmas cookie making turned into a flour war but ended with lots of fun memories.

Ray's favorite relaxing spot in the office was sitting on a car chair and talking on Skype.

Ray climbed to the top of the far mountain to sit on the top rock.

It's common to see animals being led down the streets.

We now have chickens in our new coup. Ray's last days in Andahuaylas resulted in killing one of the chickens for dinner.

Overlooking Andahuaylas with its stadiums and street market. The circus was even in town during this time.
Jon and Ray visit a church plant in Tablada, Peru.

Our trip to the coast resulted in visiting malls and restaurants with many Christmas decorations.

The statue of Jesus overlooking the Pacific ocean. Jon told his dad that he could now say that he saw Jesus in Peru.
Ray lending a hand at the church in Huancayo for their Christmas drama.
We participated in some house churches throughout the week.

We noticed a museum with an old wheel chair. Of course, Ray had to check it out.

Jon translated many times for his dad but on this occasion Jon thought his dad could figure out the sign at the ATM without his help (but evidently not). Instead Jon takes a picture and points it out afterwards that the sign says not to wear a hat or sun glasses when using the machine.

Textile making exhibited for us in a small poor town in the mountains.

Ray gets to experience a pamchamaca in Peru. This is when they cook the food in the ground with hot rocks.
A Christmas concert hosted by the church.

Taking in the sights one last time in the mountains.

Rays last day in Peru is spent looking over the Pacific ocean and buying his 23 grandchildren Christmas gifts at the Indian market.
