Learning the culture of Andahuaylas better

Just down the road from the rented property of the church is the town's yellow market. This street gets a lot of attention,  therefore creating exposure for the church. It's common to see many marches up and down the streets to promote businesses, celebrate anniversaries, and holidays. The pictures below are of the police training academy.
Up on the mountain side they light up signs for universities and schools from the valley. Matthew and I decided to hike up the mountain to see the lit up sign of Andahuaylas. It was more of an adventure than we thought it would be. We parked our van on the side of the road and began our hike. Upon returning down the mountain, we noticed that our van had police all around it and that further up the road they were about to start timing car racing. We hurried down the mountain and quickly moved our van in between cars taking off. I asked Matthew if we should enter our van in the race but he thought it was enough adventure for one day.

Nathan is into making weapons from items around the house. He has made shields, bows and arrows, swords, "Thor's" hammer, traps, sling shots, and now torches. What he comes up with next will be a mystery. All I can say is that he seems to be preparing for something.
